Margarida in London

Hi! My name is Margarida and I’m 14 years old. In this work, I decided to talk about my trip to London, because I enjoyed it very much.
London is a very big and beautiful city!
Now, I’m going to talk about some places I went…How you should know, in London, there are lots of red buses, which show people the most important places in London. In the bus, you listen to information about the places where you are, in your own language.

We went to Hyde Park, where we saw squirrels walking around… It was very funny, because we could give them food!

This park has got a very interesting characteristic: when we arrived there some people were giving speaches… About everything…! As the person was talking, some people assembled to listen to him/her! And then they started arguing, and giving their opinion!
It’s really funny, because they get really excited with that!!

The London Eye is a big wheel that moves very slowly, with many passenger capsules, and people go inside them to see the City of London!
It’s really very beautiful, specially at night…

I saw the Big Ben, too…

In London, many people travel by Metro! There, it’s different from Portugal… The people on the escalator go on the right, the people who are in a hurry go on the left, this way they can run! And all people do that!

I went to the Madame Tussauds! It is a museum where we can see some of the world’s most famous faces, made of wax.I really enjoyed it, because I took photos with the wax figures.

I went to the Buckingam Palace, to see it just from the outside…
It’s beautiful, too …

My favourite place in London was Covent Garden…
Covent Garden is so charming and beautiful!
There there are live performances, from street performers, jugglers to operas and violin players, who interact with the people who are attending. But it is specially a big place with many shops!!

Regent street

London by night!

I really enjoyed my trip to London, so I decided to share it with you!
I hope that you also enjoyed it!

F C Porto Football Club

F.C. Porto has been founded in 1893 by António Nicolau d´Almeida, a fine sportsman and an expert Oporto Wine trader, invited, in the quality of F.C. Porto president, F.C. Lisbonense to a football match. It was the first appearance in a football match for the club.
Over the years F.C. Porto grew as the conquests were becoming bigger and as his purposes were becoming greater.

Nowadays the world of football changed but F.C. Porto remains at the top. The club remained winning, continuing to be a flag of the region.
So, as everybody know, F.C.P. is champion again, for the third time in a row and there is no surprise in this fact because this year’s team and coach are very good and the rest of the championship teams are very weak. No one could stand the power of attack and defence of Porto football club.
And proudly we scream to the skies…

“Tripeiro” I am!!!

Full name: Futebol Clube do Porto

My Study

I like my room but I prefer the study. It is as comfortable as my room but bigger. There, I play computer games, watch television and do my homework. In the study I have all the books I need to study. I only go to my room when I want to sleep.
I have lots of friends but I always take them to the study because when they are in my room they left it in a mess and my mother doesn’t like it. Then I waste too much time cleaning it up.
I spend most of my time in my study. It is always as tidy as my room and for me it is more comfortable and brighter than my room.

PARKOUR

For those who don´t know, the parkour is a physical activity that is difficult to describe. The parkour is becoming very common in Portugal. It is the art of displacement, an activity with the aim of moving from one point to another as efficiently and quickly as possible, using principally the abilities of the human body. It is meant to help one overcome obstacles, which can be anything in the surrounding environment—from branches and rocks to rails and walls. Parkour practitioners are referred to as traceurs, or traceuses for females.
It was founded by David Belle in France. The main objective is to move from one point to another in the fastest way, using skills of the human body.

Now, watch some cool manoeuvres:

My Cats

Hi, I’m going talk about my cats.
They’re four, Mingau, the oldest, Ariel, Katara and Safira, the youngest.
I only have photos of three of them, but Safira’s like a black jaguar with the personality of a rabbit. Katara is very jealous and Mingau, well, he’s very gorgeous. Ariel doesn’t like my or my father’s attentions, she only wants my mother’s attentions. But I love them all! They’re the best cats I ever had.

Kisses.

PARIS

I’m João Moreira and I visited Paris in 2008, during the Easter vacations so I will try to tell what I’ve seen and what I’ve felt.
The day before the trip to Paris I was very excited because I knew it would be fun, because I would be in the Euro Disney and my parents wouldn’t be there (so I could do a lot of great stupidities)!!!
In the day of the trip I got up very early to go the school (I was sleeping) to catch the bus with my friends (from "Le Club de la Francophonie) to the airport.
The trip was very cool, because I had never travelled by plane and the experience was great.
When I reached Paris we were surprised because Paris is a wonderful and a big city.
We visited many monuments like the "Tour Eiffel", the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the Louvre museum, la Geode, …
We have visited Disneyland Paris and this was my favourite part of the trip because it’s other world, with magic and lots of fun.
The trip was very tiring but those days were the best of my life.
An advice: visit Paris!!!!!!

Life at School

We decided that we needed to talk about life at school. Sometimes some stupid persons criticize people dressed in black, for example, and we think that's really stupid. They don't have the right to do that. But that's not all. we are an example too.
We have a different style and almost everyday people look at us and laugh at our clothes. We think they should get their own lives. Popular people don't know how it feels. They live in their perfect world and maybe it isn't that perfect. Most students are surrounded by false friends. They get into our lives, pretend they are the most fantastic friends and when we're down and need their help, they run away from us. We discover who our real friends are when we're asking for help, some kick us, some hold our hand. We thank God because we have true friends. We're teenagers are we're not supposed to live concerned with these problems but we must face the truth... We don't live in a bed of roses and we can't forget the real world. Everything is okay since we're happy.
Life's what you make it so let's make it right!

CHRIS BROWN

I love listen to music and I listen it everyday, on the radio or on the computer. I hear different types of music of different singers but my favourite singer is Chris Brown.

I love his songs. He’s an American hip hop, pop and R&B singer-songwriter, dancer, music video director and actor.
He is very young but he’s got a lot of fame like his songs: “Run It!”, “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)”, “Gimme That”, “Say Goodbye”, “Poppin”, “Wall to Wall”, “KissKiss”, With You”, “This Christmas”, “Take You Down” and “Forever”. My favourites are “With You” and “Forever”.

All these songs are singles but he also sings with other singers in the songs: “Shortie Like Mine”, “No air”, “Shawnty Get Loose” and “Get like Me”.
I’m sure that he is going to be very famous.

BEACHES

My favourite season of the year is the Summer because of the weather I may go to the beach which is one of the things that I like the most. I love to go to a sandy beach, sunbathing and swimming in the sea. The beaches where I usually go are the ones from Espinho and Quarteira, among others.

The beach in Espinho is a warm white sandy beach, with a good access because there’s a wide range of public transports. It is indicated for surfing, inviting the curious to test their skills at the sea ... The “Baia” beach has cafés and bars ,a full enjoyment of the sea and the sun of the Summer.

The beach of Quarteira has 2 miles of sand with the blue flag. It has been a popular holiday destination since the 60’s, mainly due to its unique climate and extensive beach. Vilamoura, is considered a tourist destination with great potential for golf lovers and water sports such as jet skiing, sailing, windsurfing, diving and fishing.

9º N

On September, 17th, 2008, 20 teenagers joined themselves together and formed the fantastic 9th N, a spectacular class, with a shining future waiting for them!

So we are here to talk about this “wonder” class. It had just passed some months but we already can say that this is a group that we are going to remember forever… It’s difficult to describe each person, because to do that it would be necessary an enormous dictionary!

In a general way they are all wonderful, excellent people and above all, excellent friends… Friends who help when it is necessary, that support us in all the decisions, helping, thus, to make all our dreams come true…
At the end of this school year we will follow different ways but we are sure that nobody is going to forget this brilliant class. Despite the separation we will continue to remember the good moments that we spent together, the good friends we found and, above all, that we will always keep everyone in our hearts.

It was with you that we fought to reach our goals, it was with you that we built new friendships that we will never forget, it was with you that we exceeded the trickiest and hardest moments, and it will be with you, that we are going to finish with pride our ninth grade…

Thanks 9th grade, thank YOU, MY FRIENDS!

PAINTBALL

Paintball is a game, which consists on two or more teams that compete between each other, using balls that release paint when they hit the target. The objective is to catch the other group flag, in the most popular way of the game. The highest number of enemies that you "kill", or better saying "paint", the easier it will be to win the game.
In the last ten years, this sport revealed a big development, and it already counts with fifteen million registered players, all around the world. Most of these people are concentrated in the United States, and Canada.

FRIENDS

Life without them
Has no sense at all!
When you’re deep, They fight and defend,
Just to avoid you fall...

They are always there;
When you smile, when you laugh,
With them you can share
Everything you want, because they never say "enough"

They don’t mind listening to you,
They are the first who want to hear
Because they care about what you do...
They protect and hold you taking you away from fear!

They protect you when you need
But they don’t make the problems go away!
They can’t say that they are always agreed
Because that’s not what a friend should always say!

There are those times you are wrong
Times you need someone who tells you words of wisdom!
And a friend must be the first, to say where you belong...
The first to advise you, but you still have freedom
Freedom to chose, what is wrong, what is right...
And a friend would be there to make the darkness going to light!

A friend is all of this and a lot more
A friend is an invaluable treasure, you can’t just ignore!
Sometimes they are hidden, but always there
A truly friend, believe me, is the best thing you can ever have

MY BROTHER AND I

My name is Sara and I decided to talk about my brother.
I chose this theme because my brother is a very special person in my life. I love him.
My brother and I get on very well. I don’t know why but I know that we like each other and we don’t do anything alone.
He’s older than me. He left our parents' house to live alone.
I was sad because he’s special and I miss him at home.
In spite of all that he’s my strength. He is what he is, with his qualities and faults. He’s one of the persons in my life that I’m proud of having near me.

Our Friendship

Our school breaks are great!
We laugh about everything and everyone. Sometimes we have got trouble because people don't like our style, but it doesn't matter because we're together we have a lot of fun. We think that in this world there are a lot of false friends but we're not like that. We have each other back in every moment. Sometimes we're sad but when we get together we get happy again. There isn't any other friendship like ours. Our conversations are funny but sometimes stupid but we are weird and insane and we like it. We're crazy about music, internet and shops.
We don't live without our friendship.

METIN 2

Metin2 is a game of oriental action.
This game consists of killing monsters, to go to the next level, always trying to be the best warrior of the rank.
In this game you can kiss your girlfriend but, to do that, you have to pay at least 4€, because you need a mask of emotions and that is a special item.

In the game you can talk to another people, you can fight duels, fight against other kingdoms and you can also trade different items.
This game is very interesting but sometimes it makes us nervous but is a very funny game and it is for free.

My room in Switzerland

I quite liked the room I had when I lived with my parents in Switzerland. It was always very tidy and I considered it my private corner, where I studied, read and listened to music. There I could be alone, especially when I was tired or sad. As I enjoyed my privacy, I usually invited my close friends to my room because it was more peaceful.
Here I still prefer my room but I also like the living-room, It's larger and has a big TV-Set and a computer.

The best days of our lives

On the 24th March 2008, some students of the Colégio Liceal de Santa Maria de Lamas woke up very early to take part in a great adventure in Paris.
At 6 o'clock in the morning, the students were at the College. We were very curious because we wanted to visit the beautiful city of Paris.
Paris is a very famous city. We went to visit Paris because we are students from "Le Club de la Francophonie". The holidays lasted six days. The happiest days of our lifes.
When we arrived to Paris, I was so happy that I didn’t believe and neither even thought that I, at that moment, was in Paris.
We visited the " Arche de la Défense", the "Tour Eiffel", the Cathedral of Notre Dame, the Louvre museum, the " Arche du Triumf", the park of "La Villette" and other monuments.
The 28th March, Thursday, was the most fun day because we went to Disneyland Resort Paris. Madness!
We loved this part of the trip because we played with the characters from Disney and Disneyland has many entertainments that are spectacular. My favourite was the "Space Mountain" because it was very fast. They were the best days of my life. Paris is a city that I recommend to everybody.

The Trio

Daniel, Isa and Mariana…

These three friends are together since the third grade... They went to thousands of places together… Paris, Coimbra, Lisbon...

Daniel, a smart boy, who knows a little about everything… He is funny and very gourmand, he is always eating sweets, like chocolates… Sometimes, he can be a little shy, because he hates taking photos! However, he can be self-assured too, because sometimes he thinks that he is great and better… He is always making himself superior… But, well, his friends like him for what he is, no just for what he does! Finally, Daniel is obsessed by football, so everyday he reads the newspaper and talks with his friends about football clubs…

Next, there’s Isa. This girl can be brave and sweet, unbearable and adorable, sarcastic and truthful… Talking, thinking or acting, Isa is always unique! One of her biggest passions is painting. She does it perfectly! Sports are with her too, specially inside the water… She is unpredictable: sometimes is happy and fun, sometimes is completely out of humour and nobody supports to talk to her! She gives excellent advices but rarely asks for them… She is very independent! When Isa really decides to be the best, she really is the best and that makes her a little vain… Well, although her imperfections, she is loved by everybody!!

At last, but as important as the others, Mariana… This is an elegant girl! Very intelligent, but at the same time she is shy! Mariana can be a big perfectionist, so she is good in everything that she does… Except sports, she doesn’t like this kind of activities… By the other side, she is an imaginative person and uses her imagination to write… Everybody likes her compositions, and they are really good independently of the language or the size… Although she is like this, she is also a conceited girl, who wants to be always beautiful…

It can’t be said they know everything about each other, because they don’t… It can’t be said they have the same hobbies, because they haven’t… It can’t be said they are in agreement with everything, because they aren’t… But it can be said they are true friends, friends from the heart, friends from the soul... They will remember each other… Their friendship is just forever…

My trip to Rome

Hi!

Last year I went to Rome with my parents and my brother.
I could see museums and monuments absolutely fantastic. I loved the trip and especially the city. I met many nice people and even now I talk with them. Now, you can see some pictures of the city…

These pictures are about Vatican. This monument is absolutely fantastic and very big.

Coliseum is a beautiful monument and maybe the most famous of Rome because when we talk about Rome, we think about the coliseum. It’s a big monument because it has nearly 50 meters high.

I loved my trip to Rome. Rome is a very beautiful city and the monuments are extraordinary.
I loved the people, the monuments and the food, which was basically pasta but it was very tasty.

I just didn’t like the rain in one of the days because I couldn’t leave the hotel.

Bridge to Terabithia

We watched the film: “Bridge to Terabithia” during the "Formação Cívica" class.
The film is about two kids. They discover a mystery place where they can play. As time goes by, they became good friend.
The film is about friendship and it taught us that we should follow our dreams and we shouldn’t be selfish.
We think the film was very interesting and it has a lot of fantasy. There is a book about this film, too. We advise everyone to read the book and watch the film.

“Discover a place that will never leave you, and a friendship that will change you forever”

A friendless boy, who is having trouble everywhere in life, is inspired and changed by the new girl at school, who teaches him the importance of fun and imagination

Jess and his sister bring back Terabithia in even greater splendor; Jess the king and his sister the princess, and they rule over the free peoples of the kingdom together

HAPPY EASTER TO THE WORLD!

Easter is a major religious festival of Christians celebrated with feasts, fasting and prayer.
Every nation has its own way of celebrating a particular festivity.

IN ENGLAND

The name Easter comes from 'Oestre', the Anglo-Saxon goddess of fertility and springtime.
There are country-wide Easter traditions, such as giving Easter eggs, Easter bread and hot cross buns. A common Easter custom is the baking of bread and hot cross buns on Good Friday.

Cross buns and Easter eggs

IN OUR COUNTRY, PORTUGAL

Easter in Portugal is celebrated with sweet bread called Folar da Pascoa. The bread is usually served at breakfast on Easter morning but more often as a dessert after Easter dinner.
On Easter Sunday Portuguese serve a meat plate at the dinner table as the feature dish. Roasted pig 'Leitao' is popular accompanied by roasted potatoes and other vegetables, along with fresh bread.
A popular sweet served during Easter is a candied almond dish called Amendoas, which usually come in a mixture of colours and flavours.
